NAFCU MLI Day 3: Communication, CEO challenges

On Wednesday, credit union professionals at NAFCU's Management and Leadership Institute in Annapolis focused on the challenges facing modern CEOs and effective executive communication strategies.

Grow Financial Federal Credit Union President and CEO Bob Fisher joined Campco Federal Credit Union President and CEO Kurt Thelen and Primeway Federal Credit Union President and CEO Annette Zimmerman to discuss how technology and the growing regulatory burden can affect a CEO's leadership style as well as a credit union's business plan. They talked about how CEOs can work to keep their institutions relevant by thinking outside of the box, designing "evolving" strategic plans and paying attention to what others are doing.

Communications expert Stacey Hanke talked about practical techniques to improve communication and project confidence when speaking. She detailed the eight biggest traps that professionals can fall into and talked about how communication can impact relationships and success.
