Berger at Treasury forum on economic growth today

NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger, at the invitation of Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, today is attending the Freedman's Bank Forum, at which public, private and nonprofit leaders will discuss strategies to improve jobs, economic opportunity and financial inclusion for all communities.

The forum, taking place at the Treasury Department, is named after the Freedman's Savings and Trust Company, which was created to provide economic opportunity for newly emancipated people more than 150 years ago. Today's forum will also honor the history celebrated through the National Museum of African American History & Culture, which opens this weekend in Washington, D.C.

Speakers and panelists at today's forum will also discuss recent progress and new opportunities for the administration and private, nonprofit and local government sectors in fostering broad-based economic growth.
