Cybersecurity survey responses due Sept. 30

Responses to a NAFCU Economic & CU Monitor survey focusing on cybersecurity and related costs for credit unions are due this Friday.

The data collected through NAFCU's monthly surveys is a crucial part of the association's advocacy efforts on behalf of credit unions with lawmakers and regulators. NAFCU members can participate in one of two ways: fill the survey out online, or complete an Excel survey form and email it to research@nafcu.org.

The current survey includes questions about the cost of cybersecurity insurance and whether respondents use third-party vendors for some or all of their cybersecurity needs. Credit unions are also asked if their IT or cybersecurity costs have been increasing, and if they have created cybersecurity oversight committees or new cybersecurity-related positions in recent years. Other questions focus on NCUA's recent addition of cybersecurity to its examination process.

Finally, the survey asks members about their use of resources available for cybersecurity needs, including NAFCU's interactive workbook designed to help credit unions use the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council's Cybersecurity Assessment Tool.
