NCUA touts resources for America, Military Saves Weeks

The NCUA on Friday highlighted its resources on saving and managing money – available through MyCreditUnion.gov and the Twitter account @MyCUgov – to help kick off America Saves Week and Military Saves Week, which begin today.

The NCUA cited an America Saves survey that showed just 40 percent of households report good or excellent progress in meeting savings needs.

NAFCU has encouraged credit unions to use this week to highlight saving strategies and financial management. NAFCU Director of Regulatory Affairs Alexander Monterrubio and Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Michael Emancipator will attend an America Saves reception in Washington on Wednesday.

Through the two programs, financial institutions are asked to promote the value of saving through all their communication channels, including social media. Credit unions can download and personalize the promotional materials offered on the campaign websites.

Military Saves Week is part of the Department of Defense's Financial Readiness Campaign.
