Aug. 9 NCUA webinar on stabilization fund closure

NCUA has opened registration to an Aug. 9 webinar that will feature top agency officials discussing the board's proposal to close the Temporary Corporate Credit Union Stabilization Fund and provide a potential distribution to credit unions next year.

The proposal provides for closing and merging the TCCUSF into the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund by Sept. 30; this, the agency notes, could make possible a distribution to credit unions in mid-2018.

NCUA Director of Examination and Insurance Larry Fazio and Chief Financial Officer Rendell Jones will give the proposal's details and take questions. However, the agency notes: "This webinar is not intended to field credit union stakeholder's comments on the plan. Those should be submitted through the usual agency process." (Comments are due Sept. 5.)

The Aug. 9 webinar is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern. Credit unions can register for the Aug. 9 webinar here. Once registered, they can submit questions in advance at WebinarQuestions@ncua.gov. The email's subject line should read, "Stabilization Fund plan."

Technical questions about webinar access should be sent to audience.support@on24.com. The webinar will be closed captioned and archived online about three weeks afterward.
