NAFCU's O'Brien to CUs: Get involved in advocacy efforts next week

Lawmakers will head home for a one-week recess next week, and NAFCU Director of Political Affairs Dan O'Brien is urging credit unions to reach out on top industry issues, including a continued push for regulatory relief.

"Next week is a prime opportunity for credit unions to connect with their members of Congress in their home states and districts," says O'Brien. "NAFCU's Grassroots Action Center offers credit unions the tools they need to ask their lawmakers to support regulatory relief efforts and other issues of importance to the industry."

NAFCU's Grassroots Action Center allows credit unions to find contact information for their lawmakers and look up key credit union-related legislation to see where their members of Congress stand on those bills.

Credit unions can send letters, tweets, Facebook messages and also call their lawmakers concerning the current active campaigns on the Grassroots Action Center, which concern the credit union tax exemption, data security legislation and regulatory relief efforts.

"We hope that you'll get involved in our advocacy efforts and let your member of Congress know that we are united on these issues," O'Brien adds.
