NAFCU webcasts target employee fraud, ALM measuring, e-signatures

In the coming weeks, NAFCU is offering three webcasts that will help credit unions detect and prevent employee fraud, better understand asset liability management (ALM) and adopt e-signature services.

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, NAFCU will host "How to Detect and Prevent Employee Fraud," with presenter Peter Goldman, president of FraudAware. The webcast will highlight ways to identify potential wrongdoers, specific schemes that are common at credit unions and how credit unions can create and enforce processes to deter fraud.

NAFCU recommends COOs, compliance and risk staff and attorney staff attend. For more information and to register for the webcast, click here. Today is the last day to save $100 on registration.

On Thursday, Oct. 26, credit union risk and compliance and accounting staff will learn more about ALM concepts and how to effectively measure and monitor practices in an ever-changing interest rate environment during NAFCU's "ALM Essentials: Keys for Effective Measurement and Monitoring" webcast.

Colette Wagner, managing director of accounting firm Crowe Horwath, will lead the ALM training. Those who register by Thursday can save $100.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Century Federal Credit Union's Director of Risk and Compliance Jacqueline Jackson will lead a webcast on how credit unions can implement e-signature services. "Electronic Signatures: Adaptation and Best Practices" will help credit union risk and compliance and accounting staff understand the state and federal regulations that affect e-signatures, the member benefits of offering these services and how to protect institutions from potential liabilities.

All webcasts begin at 2 p.m. Eastern and are open to all credit unions, regardless of membership or charter type. Participants can earn NCCO, NCRM and CPA education credits for attending. Learn more about the webcasts and register for them here.

NAFCU's on-demand webcasts are available for 12 months after the live broadcast through the association's Online Training Center.
