CUs, NAFCU at SBA roundtable on commercial lending today
Today, several NAFCU members, association Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Michael Emancipator and Regulatory Affairs Counsel Andrew Morris will attend a Small Business Administration (SBA) advocacy roundtable on commercial lending.
The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. in Washington.
After an SBA roundtable discussion Aug. 4, also attended by NAFCU, attendees wanted smaller financial institutions to explain the commercial lending process to small businesses and community groups.
The SBA holds these roundtable discussions periodically to facilitate open discussions about the impacts of federal regulations on small institutions and businesses.
During NAFCU's Congressional Caucus earlier this month, NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and SBA Administrator Linda McMahon signed a new Memorandum of Understanding aimed at improving access to credit union small-dollar loans to small businesses across the nation.
