This week: Congress out; CUs encouraged to engage on data security
Lawmakers are working in their home district and state offices this week, providing a great opportunity for credit unions to reach out on top industry issues, including the ongoing push for regulatory relief and national data security standards.
NAFCU's Grassroots Action Center allows credit unions to find contact information for their lawmakers and look up key credit union-related legislation to see where their members of Congress stand on those bills.
Credit unions can send letters, tweets, Facebook messages and also call their lawmakers concerning the current active campaign on the Grassroots Action Center, which concerns data security legislation.
Of note this week:
- On Wednesday, NAFCU is offering a free, live webcast to breakdown the NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) exam. Registration is still open.
- On Thursday, NAFCU is offering a live webcast to educate credit unions on how to best use strategic planning to drive strategic decision making. Registration is still open.
- Early-bird registration savings of $200 end Friday for NAFCU's CEOs and Senior Executives Conference, April 18-20 in Napa, Calif. Credit unions can save with the code CEOSAVINGS until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Feb. 23.
- Credit unions have until March 2 to submit entries for NAFCU's 2018 Annual Awards Competition.
