CU board, supervisory members will save on NAFCU conference through Friday

Credit union board members and members of supervisory committees can save $200 on NAFCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference through Friday with the code BOARDSAVINGS. This conference, happening May 7-10 in Newport, R.I., will bolster credit union volunteers' leadership skills and knowledge to ensure effective execution of board and supervisory duties.

During the conference, attendees will get a Washington update and learn best practices to handle CEO succession planning, compensation and recruiting talent for the board. Through a pre-conference workshop, attendees can earn their NAFCU Certified Volunteer Expert (NCVE) designation, and can also receive Financial Literacy, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Training and Supervisory Training Certificates during conference breakout sessions.

NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger will kick-off the conference with a welcome address to attendees. Credit union volunteers will also take away key leadership lessons from keynote presenter Brent Gleeson, a Navy SEAL, author and business leader. Gleeson will draw connections between his military experience and ways credit union board and supervisory committee members can create high performing teams.

For up-to-date coverage of NAFCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference, follow #CUBoards on Twitter. The early-bird savings with code BOARDSAVINGS end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Friday; registration is available here.

All NAFCU's 2018 conferences are open to both member and nonmember credit unions.
