CUs a better deal for savings, says CNN report

A CNN "American Morning" report Tuesday on new year's financial resolutions pointed to credit unions as a better deal for consumer savings and credit-card options.
Maximum consumer report fee drops 50 cents

The maximum that a consumer reporting agency can charge for providing a consumer a copy of her credit report will fall from $11 to $10.50 as of Jan. 1, 2010, the Federal Trade Commission said.

Fed proposes Reg D term deposits

The Federal Reserve Board is proposing to revise Regulation D to permit credit unions, banks, thrifts and other eligible institutions to maintain term deposits with the Fed apart from their required reserve balances.
