NAFCU's 2012 Technology and Security Conference Unlocks Credit Unions' Path to Bottom Line Success With New Technology

WASHINGTON – Technology and new media have redefined consumer engagement, and credit unions can learn how to leverage the latest trends and prepare for what's ahead at the National Association of Federal Credit Unions' (NAFCU) 2012 Technology and Security Conference, Feb. 14-16, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. "With events like Bank Transfer Day yielding a host of new credit union members this year, credit unions must ensure they are operating at the vanguard of new technology," said NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker. "From Facebook to i-Phone apps, credit unions have a world of possibilities when it comes to communicating with members and improving their bottom line through technology."

Peter Leyden, a leading expert on megatrends and new technology, is the conference's keynote speaker. As the former managing editor of Wired magazine and co-author of The Long Boom: A Vision For the Coming Age of Prosperity (2000), Leyden has a profound understanding of technology and new media.His presentation will explore different facets of the technology world, the dramatic shift from old media to new media, and where technology is headed. Leyden will also discuss demographic use of technology, including how different generations use technology.

The conference offers over a dozen sessions on a variety of technology and security issues that are vital to credit unions, including the latest IT trends and strategies; FFIEC guidance on authentication and anomalies; the top credit union fraud claims and loss prevention; data breach procedures and planning; and common lending data language.
