NAFCU freezes prices for AC, other events
Aug. 21, 2008 – NAFCU is freezing the registration fee for its 2009 Annual Conference and Exhibition, giving credit unions a chance to attend, at the 2008 price, what has been deemed the industry’s premier education event.
Alicia Hosmer, NAFCU’s director of marketing, said that with higher travel costs and narrowing training budgets across the industry, this move is the association’s way of providing members with the best value for their dollars in this tightening economy.
NAFCU’s Annual Conference will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center in National Harbor, Md. – an $865-million complex that opened earlier this year. The Gaylord offers a 20,000-square-foot spa, four restaurants, retail shops, a marina and river views of Washington, D.C. and Old Town Alexandria, Va.
And by the time the conference starts, there should be about three dozen restaurants and some nightclubs in the National Harbor area. Conference attendees will be able to take advantage of a water taxi service that connects the Gaylord to Old Town.
While enjoying what the National Harbor has to offer, attendees will have the opportunity to fine-tune their credit union’s goals and strategies, get the latest regulatory and legislative news, discuss new trends and ideas and interact with some of the most innovative minds in the credit union industry.
In addition to the price freeze for the annual conference, the association has announced that all of its conferences and webcasts for next year will be priced as they were for 2008.
