81 cosponsors for CURIA

May 14, 2007—Two more House members—Reps. Bob Filner, D-Calif., and Tim Walberg, R-Mich.—signed on May 10 to the cosponsor list for H.R. 1537, the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act.

About nine or 10 cosponsors, on average, have joined per week since Reps. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., and Ed Royce, R-Calif., began circulating their “Dear Colleague” letter in an effort to garner additional support for the bill. NAFCU is also urging its members to keep up their grassroots efforts begun over the spring recess on the measure.
