June 17, 2011 – Credit unions' use of derivatives is the subject of an advance notice of proposed rulemaking slated for release during today's open meeting of the NCUA Board.

The board, meeting at 10 a.m., is also poised to act on a final rule allowing credit unions to use statistically valid member survey data to qualify for NCUA's low-income designation; and an interim final rule making a technical correction to the final rule on golden parachutes and indemnification payments.

A report on the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund is scheduled. A closed meeting will follow.
