NAFCU Responds to Retailer Groups on Data Breach ‘Misconceptions'
Washington (Oct. 30, 2014)- National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) President and CEO Dan Berger issued the following statement today in response to a letter sent jointly by six retail industry groups to NAFCU and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) on the "misconceptions" about data breaches and working to make the payments system better:
"We will join their partnership when retailers and merchants begin properly protecting consumers' data and investing in the technology necessary to do so," said Berger.
The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national trade association that exclusively represents the interests of federally chartered credit unions before the federal government and the public.
