NAFCU: Free Webcast on Digital Commerce Nov. 14 with MasterCard's Emerging Payments Guru

Washington (Nov. 10, 2014) - The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) is offering afree, hour-long webcast on the emerging technologies of Apple Pay and other paymentoptions featuring Rita Ramirez, vice president of emerging payments solutions for MasterCard, a NAFCU Services Preferred Partner.The webcast, "Digital Commerce: The Future is Here!" will broadcast live from 2-3 p.m. Eastern from the association's headquarters in Arlington, Va.

While the webcast will be provided free of charge to members and non-members, registration is required.

The Nov. 14 webcast is aimed at providing credit unions an overview of the payments market.Ramirez will discuss the following:

  • how early adoption of digital technologies can help credit unions grow their "share of wallet;"
  • how Apple Pay and MasterPass – MasterCard's digital enablement tool – work and who's using them;
  • what MasterCard is doing to make digital payments more secure.

"Any credit union looking to build more ‘share of wallet' from its members will gain from this webcast," said Anthony Demangone, NAFCU's executive vice president and COO and the moderator for the Nov. 14 webcast. "NAFCU is hoping through this offering to deliver information and tools credit unions can use to better serve members and strengthen their bottom lines."
