NAFCU's 50th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo Kicks Off in Honolulu, Live Stream Wednesday

Honolulu, Hawaii (June 13, 2017) –Credit union professionals from across the country are gathering today to kick off the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU)50th Annual Conference and Solutions Expoin Honolulu. The conference is NAFCU's largest annual event and it runs through Friday, June 16.
"We are excited to be celebrating NAFCU's 50th anniversary and the association's accomplishments in Honolulu," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. "NAFCU's Annual Conference and Solutions Expo brings credit union leaders together to learn the latest on important industry issues and trends. This year's program is designed to help credit unions strengthen their operations and grow their bottom line."
Berger will lead a member-only "Private Conversation" with other NAFCU senior staff. Also slated are theDefense Credit Union Summit, sponsored by Allied Solutions,whereattendees will learn about the impact of the Military Lending Act and network with other credit union leaders invested in defense issues; and the popularpre-conference workshop, where credit union board and supervisory committee members learn the ins and outs of the credit union industry and earn theNAFCU Certified Volunteer Expertcertification.
Berger will kick off the conference program Wednesday, providing a welcome address and opening remarks; this portion of Wednesday's session will bestreamed live.Other general session speakers this week include, among others, National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Acting Chairman J. Mark McWatters and Board Member Rick Metsger on the latest agency activities and plans. Keynote speakersJeff Havens, sponsored by Affinion InsuranceSolutionsArmy Maj. Gen. (Retired) Vinny BolesandJohn Maclean,sponsored by CUNA Mutual Group will focus on how credit union leaders can thrive in highly competitive conditions. Other featured speakers include TrueCar's Bernie Brenner, Mastercard's JohnAinsworthand Visa's Neil Mumm.
The Solutions Expo, openWednesdayand Thursday, will provide a look at the latest technologies, applications and resources available to help improve credit union operations.
Winners of NAFCU's 2016 Annual Awards will be recognized Thursday, June 15. The awards recognizeassociationmember credit unions and individuals for excellence and achievement in the industry.
Friday's program featuresa NAFCU50th anniversarycelebration sponsored by Allied Solutions. A private concert featuring Beach Boys Co-Founder Brian Wilson follows.
