Michael ColemanMichael J. Coleman, Esq., NCCO, is Regulatory Compliance Counsel at NAFCU. Mr. Coleman assists credit unions on a variety of regulatory and operational compliance issues, authors compliance articles for NAFCU publications such as the Compliance Monitor and NAFCU Compliance Blog, and also speaks about regulatory issues at NAFCU educational events and conferences.

Prior to joining NAFCU, Mike worked as legal counsel and tax advisor for the Federated States of Micronesia in the Department of Finance and Administration. He advised the Secretary of Finance on all legal matters, primarily those involving the national tax laws and regulations. During law school, he participated in George Mason's domestic relations legal clinic, interned for Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge R. Terrance Ney, and worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

Mike is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law and holds a BA in economics from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Federated States of Micronesia Bar.
