Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm (ET)

Many organizations are eager to wring business value from the capture and management of big data and the ever-expanding new data sources our digital economy is producing. However, just capturing big data isn’t enough. Organizations have to satisfy the security demands of their stakeholders and members.

A big data security strategy can no longer be put off. Securing data at both user/application and backend data layers is crucial, as well as extending data governance policies to control the access to and use of big data. Otherwise, the organization is exposing itself unnecessarily and putting the brand at risk. We, as big data practitioners, have to ensure that our security strategy instills confidence and the trust that we are doing all we can to keep data safe and secure.

This presentation looks at these and similar issues around the proper management, security, and governance of big data.
