NCUA budget briefing Oct. 18; draft budget released around Oct. 2
The NCUA will hold a public briefing on its 2018-2019 budget proposal from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Oct. 18 at the agency's headquarters. The agency plans to release the draft budget during the week of Oct. 2.
Written comments for the record on the NCUA's proposed budget are due to the agency by Oct. 27.
Members of the public can present during the Oct. 18 budget briefing but must submit their requests to the agency, along with their written comments, by Oct. 13. A livestream of the budget briefing will be available on the agency's website.
The NCUA started NAFCU-requested public budget briefings last year. NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger spoke during last year's briefing and noted concerns over the agency's ever-increasing budget and how the NCUA should be looking to find cost savings wherever possible.
