NCUA grants $1.8M to low-income CUs

The NCUA awarded grants totaling more than $1.8 million to 251 low-income credit unions through the Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF), the agency announced Tuesday.

NCUA received applications from 328 credit unions for more than $2.4 million. The agency's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives administers the grant funding provided by the CDRLF.

Grants were awarded in three areas: digital services and security ($1.06 million); leadership development ($504,190); and small low-income credit union capacity, aimed to help these institutions improve technology systems ($283,500).

Credit unions may apply for grants for emergency assistance year-round, subject to funding availability. More information is available here.
