NAFCU closed Monday for Presidents Day

NAFCU's offices will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day. Members can take advantage of the association's resources online – including an updated share insurance fund calculator to estimate the amount of the distribution their credit union will receive from the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) this year.

In addition to access to research and staff contact information, members can download publications and register for upcoming webcasts and conferences through the website while offices are closed. Here are a few things credit unions might be interested in:

  • The NCUA Board yesterday announced that, based on the final NCUSIF audit, equity ratio on insured shares stands at 1.46 percent – higher than the current normal operating level (NOL) of 1.39 percent. From this ratio, the NCUA has revised its distribution to credit unions this year to be $735.7 million. Credit unions can use NAFCU's SIF calculator to estimate their distribution amount, expected to come in the third quarter.
  • Yesterday, the House passed NAFCU-supported legislation to address public accessibility concerns under the ADA and clarified the bill's intent to also address websites following NAFCU-led efforts. Read more about the legislation here, and access NAFCU's ADA resources here.
  • On Wednesday, NAFCU is offering a free, live webcast to breakdown the NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) exam. Registration is still open.
  • On Thursday, NAFCU is offering a live webcast to educate credit unions on how to best use strategic planning to drive strategic decision making. Registration is still open.
  • Early-bird registration savings of $200 end next Friday for NAFCU's CEOs and Senior Executives Conference, April 18-20 in Napa, Calif. Credit unions can save with the code CEOSAVINGS until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Feb. 23.
  • Credit unions have two more weeks to submit entries for NAFCU's 2018 Annual Awards Competition. The deadline to enter the competition is March 2.

NAFCU Today will resume publication Tuesday, Feb. 20, when offices reopen. NAFCU's UPDATE email is scheduled for 4 p.m. Eastern today.
