The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is requesting comments from the public to assist in its review of the consumer credit card market. NAFCU would like to highlight the following:

  • A biennial review of the market is required by the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Actof 2009 (CARD Act).
  • The CFPB is looking for information from the public about how the credit card market is functioning, both from the consumer and the lender perspective.
  • Some of the areas of interest on which the CFPB is seeking comment were discussed in the previous Review, published in October 2013.
  • Commenters are urged to address any relevant aspect of the consumer credit market they believe would be of interest or concern to the CFPB.
