They’re attacking our industry. Again. NAFCU isn’t afraid to put them in their place. Visit stopbigbankbullies.com, developed specifically to fight back against their baseless attacks. Please share it with your members, staff and partners and encourage them to share it as well.
We provide the best in federal advocacy as your Washington watchdog
2021 Advocacy Priorities
NAFCU works directly with our credit union members to bring important issues to lawmakers and regulators alike. As we work toward meaningful legislative and regulatory changes in 2021, our commitment to stand up for our members and help promote a healthy environment for credit union growth is stronger than ever.
Providing award-winning advocacy
NAFCU's advocacy has been named a 2018 ASAE Power of A (association), Silver Award winner for its efforts in helping advance the credit union industry. This award recognizes associations that distinguish themselves with innovative, effective and broad-reaching programs and activities that positively impact America and the world. Learn more
Proposed Regulation for Comment
NAFCU Regulatory Alerts are member-only resources containing important highlights and summaries for proposed rulemakings that affect credit unions. Each alert PDF also provides a link to send NAFCU your comments that we will include in our letter to the agency or agencies that issued to proposed rule.
Letters & Testimony
Policy letters and regulatory comment letters are sent to members of Congress and federal agencies to make sure your positions are in the forefront of important issues. We also place credit union members in front of Congress to testify on behalf of our industry. In 2017, NAFCU placed nine witnesses in Congressional hearings covering data security, regulatory relief, member business lending and more.
NAFCU's Political Action Committee (NAFCU/PAC) provides contributions to members of Congress and candidates who support legislation and other actions favorable to credit unions. Contributing to the campaign funds of key federal legislators is an essential element to the success of any national association's lobbying efforts.
