André B. Cotten, NCCO, was named regulatory compliance counsel in November 2016. In this role, Cotten helps credit unions with a variety of compliance issues.
Prior to joining NAFCU, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior associate in the Financial Services Risk and Regulatory practice. He has experience interpreting and providing regulatory advice to clients on federal regulations. As a regulatory law clerk at the Financial Services Roundtable, Cotten also gained experience writing regulatory comment letters and consensus building. He also worked as financial services fellow at the Podesta Group, and was a law clerk with the House Committee on Financial Services.
Cotten is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law where he was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board and graduated cum laude. He holds a bachelor of arts in Public Policy Leadership and English from the University of Mississippi and was inducted into the university's Hall of Fame. Cotten is licensed to practice law in Maryland and Mississippi.
