Jennifer Aguilar, NCCO, was named regulatory compliance counsel in February 2017. In this role, Aguilar helps credit unions with a variety of compliance issues.
Prior to joining NAFCU, Aguilar worked as a legal assistant in private practice. During law school, Aguilar interned in the SEC where she worked with the disclosure and compliance requirements of the Investment Company Act. Aguilar was also student analyst in the Treasury Department's Office of Consumer Policy where she worked on projects including student loan reporting, payday loans, and financial inclusion.
Aguilar graduated cum laude from American University Washington College of Law where she was a recipient of the Pro Bono Honors Award for completing over 150 hours of pro bono service. She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. Aguilar is licensed to practice law in Virginia. She is also a member of the Fairfax Bar Association and a volunteer attorney with the Fairfax Law Foundation.
