2 speakers join Defense CU Summit at A.C.

July 8, 2014 – Vice Admiral Norbert Ryan, president and CEO of the Military Officers Association of America, and Joyce Raezer, executive director of the National Military Family Association, are set to speak before NAFCU's Defense Credit Union Summit this month in Las Vegas.

The half-day summit for Department of Defense-related credit unions is slated Tuesday, July 22, before NAFCU's Annual Conference and Solution Expo begins at The Venetian Las Vegas Casino, Hotel & Resort. The summit will also feature remarks from keynote speaker Holly Petraeus, the assistant director of the Office of Servicemember Affairs at CFPB. The summit will focus on best practices for serving members of the military, and discussion of the latest issues affecting DoD credit unions.

Education sessions at Annual Conference will focus on business and technology innovation; credit union trends; growing revenue; improving the bottom line; regulation and advocacy (including NCUA's proposed risk-based capital rule); and risk management.

Geoffrey Canada, an education advocate and key figure in the Sundance Festival award-winning documentary "Waiting for ‘Superman,'" is the keynote speaker. Also keynoting will be leadership innovators Dan Rockwell and Lee Wetherington. Other speakers include NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz and Director of the Office of Examination and Insurance Larry Fazio; NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger; and other top association staff.

The Annual Conference and Solutions Expo runs July 22-26. Registration is open to members and non-members.
