2014 NAFCU Board elections underway

Jan. 21, 2014 – The 2014 NAFCU Board election cycle kicks off today with a call for applications for inclusion on this year's Nominating Committee slate of candidates.

Four seats are affected in this year's elections, two at-large seats and the seats for Regions III and IV. Three incumbents intend to run: At-Large Director Daniel Weickenand of Orion FCU (Tenn.), Region III Director Jeanne Kucey of JetStream FCU (Fla.) and Region IV Director Rod Taylor of Barksdale FCU (La.).

Due to NCUA's regional realignment, Taylor will run for an at-large position, leaving the Region IV seat vacant.

The other seat affected is currently held by At-Large Director Mike Lussier, who this year is completing his third three-year term. Board members are limited to three consecutive three-year terms under NAFCU's bylaws.

Applications for inclusion on the Nominating Committee's slate are due to the committee chair, Lussier, by Feb. 10.

The Nominating Committee will mail nominating ballots to NAFCU members March 17; completed ballots will be due to the NAFCU secretary by March 31.
