CFPB Director Chopra to address CUs at NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus
CFPB Director Rohit Chopra is confirmed to address credit union attendees during NAFCU’s 2022 Congressional Caucus. Credit unions can still register for the event, where attendees will engage lawmakers and regulators on a wide range of industry topics and all things happening on the Hill. The event, happening September 11-14, will be held in-person in Washington, D.C.
The NAFCU Board of Directors, along with several members of the association’s staff, met with Chopra in July to discuss several credit union related topics. Chopra joins the lineup of multiple regulators scheduled to speak at the event, including:
- NCUA Board Chairman Todd Harper;
- NCUA Board Vice Chairman Kyle Hauptman;
- NCUA Board Member Rodney Hood;
- Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Sandra Thompson; and
- Department of Treasury Director for International Engagement and Mission Support Brian Peretti.
Of note, multiple lawmakers are also scheduled to provide remarks, including:
- Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee;
- Rep. French Hill, R-Ark., member of the House Financial Services Committee and Ranking Member of the Housing, Community Development and Insurance Subcommittee;
- Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions; and
- Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., member of the House Financial Services Committee.
Additional can’t-miss speakers and sessions will include insights from:
- Former Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center William Evanina;
- Campaign and Communications Strategist Jason Roe; and
- Inclusiv President and CEO Cathie Mahon.
