CFPB forum today on veterans' consumer issues

May 9, 2014 – CFPB's Holly Petraeus, assistant director of servicemember affairs, announced an online forum to discuss consumer financial issues for veterans at 2 p.m. Eastern today.

NAFCU will monitor today's forum. "Defense credit unions do a great job identifying the issues faced by their membership and responding to those challenges as they arise," said Quincy Enoch, NAFCU's associate director of legislative affairs and military liaison.

Wednesday's CFPB blog post noted that today's event will focus on common consumer issues for veterans and military retirees. Petraeus said highlights of the online forum will include a "review of tools that can help veterans capitalize on key benefits and information that can help them avoid consumer scams."

Registration is open for the event.
