monitorNAFCU's December Compliance Monitornow available for download – provides a one-stop, year-end review of final rules, proposals and guidance affecting credit unions' regulatory compliance responsibilities.

Containing links to helpful charts and resources, this 2018 year-end recap breaks down regulatory activities by agency, including the regulatory relief package (S. 2155) and its implications on the credit union industry that was passed by Congress earlier this year. The article, put together by NAFCU Vice President of Regulatory Compliance Brandy Bruyere, also notes important 2019 implementation deadlines, ongoing risks present and issues pending for the industry.

A second article in this month's Monitor briefly discusses record retention and provides an overview of related federal regulations. NAFCU Regulatory Compliance Counsel David Park includes a chart, which can be separately accessed in its entirety, to help credit unions identify what may be relevant considerations in the context of record retention.

A Compliance Forum is also included in the Monitor, containing questions and answers relating to federal credit union bylaws, consumer forms and Regulation CC.
