Cybersecurity expert Olcott at A.C. in Vegas

May 21, 2014 – Cybersecurity expert Jacob Olcott will lead an educational session on how to create a "cyber safe" credit union during NAFCU's 47th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo in Las Vegas.

Olcott, principal at Good Harbor Security Risk Management LLC and former lead negotiator on cybersecurity legislation for Senate Commerce Chairman John Rockefeller IV, D-W.Va., was a keynote speaker for NAFCU's CEOs and Senior Executives Conference last month. During his Annual Conference session, he will provide attendees with an overview of how credit unions can improve their cybersecurity frameworks in three critical areas:

• creating a strong corporate governance program around cyber risk management;
• building a culture of security inside an organization; and
• effectively managing a cyber crisis.

The Annual Conference – set for July 22-26 at the Venetian Las Vegas Casino, Hotel & Resort – will focus on issues like the recent risk-based capital proposal from NCUA and new technology available to credit unions. The conference will also feature summits and forums, such as the Defense Credit Union Summit. The Defense Summit, which will put attendees face-to-face with U.S. defense leaders, focuses on defense-related issues affecting credit unions serving military servicemembers and best practices in meeting these members' needs.

The conference will also offer attendees numerous networking opportunities.

NAFCU's Annual Conference is open to NAFCU members and nonmembers. The deadline for early registration savings of $100 is May 23.
