HMDA on CUAC's March 14 agenda
The CFPB's Credit Union Advisory Council (CUAC) is set to meet March 14 and on its agenda is the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and consumer reporting trends. The council meets roughly two weeks after the deadline – which is tomorrow – for covered institutions to file their first Loan/Application Register (LAR) with the CFPB.
NAFCU's compliance team is hard at work answering questions and providing resources to credit unions that are trying to meet the compliance deadline. A recent Compliance Blog post answers some frequently asked questions on HMDA reporting requirements.
In addition, NAFCU is currently seeking credit unions' insights to HMDA reporting through its Economic & CU Monitor survey. Responses are due March 8 and can be submitted online.
CUAC will also meet with the Consumer Advisory Board and Community Bank Advisory Council March 14, though topics for that roundtable have yet to be announced.
There is a call-in number available for CUAC's meeting, and the combined roundtable will be available via livestream. Registration information is available here.
