McWatters gets his hearing March 13

March 5, 2014 – The Senate Banking Committee will hear from NCUA Board nominee Mark McWatters and others in a hearing that has now been rescheduled for 10 a.m. Eastern March 13.

McWatters had been set to discuss his nomination this week before the committee, but the hearing was postponed over uncertainty caused by weather delays in the area.

The president nominated McWatters to the NCUA Board in January to replace Michael Fryzel, whose term expired last August. If confirmed, McWatters would have a term lasting through Aug. 2, 2019.

The March 13 hearing will also include four others nominated to federal agency posts: Federal Reserve Board nominees Stanley Fischer, Jerome Powell and Lael Brainard (Fischer has also been nominated to be Fed vice chairman); and Gustavo Velasquez Aguilar, nominated as an assistant secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
