Montgomery confirmed to lead FHA

Montgomery confirmationThe Senate on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of Brian Montgomery to lead the Federal Housing Administration (FHA); this will be his second time as FHA commissioner. NAFCU will send a letter to Montgomery today congratulating him on his new role.

Montgomery previously held the job under President George W. Bush and stayed on for six months when President Barack Obama took office.

NAFCU has long recognized and supported FHA's important role in the housing finance market. The association is also urging Congress, as discussions of housing finance reform are underway, to preserve credit unions' equal access to the secondary mortgage market and for fair pricing based on loan quality rather than volume.
