NAFCU attends DoD roundtable on financial literacy
March 28, 2014 – In an effort to improve the financial situations of servicemembers, the Department of Defense, Military Community and Family Policy held its first readiness roundtable Thursday, which was attended by NAFCU lobbyists.
The roundtable was hosted by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (MCFP) Rosemary Williams. NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler and Associate Director of Legislative Affairs and Military Liaison Quincy Enoch attended the event, which will be held quarterly.
The roundtable was held in collaboration between DoD and other government agencies and nonprofits. During Thursday's meeting, attendees discussed various methods to contact servicemembers and provide them with financial literacy.
Also in attendance, Holly Petraeus, assistant director of military affairs for CFPB, and representatives from NCUA, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Securities and Exchange Commission, National Military Family Association, and others.
