NAFCU to the Hill: Americans benefit from CU membership

Capitol HillAs another year of credit union wins comes to a close, NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler shared a few highlights of the good work credit unions are doing for members in an email to Capitol Hill.

NAFCU has consistently worked to point out the difference between credit unions and banks. A recent Gallup study released last month found that “credit unions are far better at supporting their members’ feelings of well-being than banks are” when consumers were questioned on their financial institution opinions.

That same survey found that credit unions beat banks nearly 2-1 in regard to consumers believing that their financial institution “has my best interests at heart.” See the credit union difference for yourself.

In his message to the Hill, Thaler pointed out that it is this record of consumer focus that led Consumer Reports to praise credit unions for being among the highest-rated services they have ever evaluated. It's also why more than 119 million Americans have chosen to join a credit union.

Join NAFCU in its award-winning advocacy efforts to ensure lawmakers and regulators see the credit union difference, too. Stay tuned to NAFCU Today for updates from Capitol Hill.
