NAFCU Statement In Response to Senate Appropriations Committee Mark-up of "Financial Services and General Government Appropriations" Bill

Washington (July 23, 2015) – National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU)Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler issued the following statement in response to the mark-up of the fiscal 2016 "Financial Services and General Government Appropriations" bill today by the full Senate Appropriations Committee.

"We appreciate Sen. Shelby's steadfast efforts to advance regulatory relief for community financial institutions such as credit unions," said Thaler. "We are pleased to see Chairman Boozman, Chairman Cochran and the Senate Appropriations Committee support this effort and include NAFCU-backed language from the Financial Regulatory Improvement Act in the Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill that was reported to the full Senate. We look forward to continuing our work with the Senate to advance regulatory relief for credit unions."
