NAFCU webcasts to cover exams, servicing, website compliance
Early-bird registration savings deadlines are nearing for three NAFCU webcasts coming up over the next two months addressing examination changes under CFPB's new mortgage rules, a new mortgage servicing requirement on qualified written requests and credit union website compliance requirements.
"The Examiners Are Coming: What to Expect and How to Prepare Your Credit Union for the New Mortgage Rules" is scheduled Aug. 27; the early-bird deadline for registration savings of $100 is Aug. 20. David Reed, a partner in Reed and Jolly PLLC, will discuss examination changes credit unions can expect as a result of CFPB's mortgage rules, current CFPB and NCUA examination resources and guidance and examination preparation tips and best practices.
Additional upcoming NAFCU webcasts include the following:
- "New Mortgage Servicing Requirement: Error Resolution and Information Request Procedures" is scheduled Sept. 10; the early-bird deadline for registration is Sept. 3. Attorney Rob Rutkowski will provide credit unions with a better understanding of mortgage servicing errors identified by CFPB and the best way to respond to each one.
- "Your Credit Union's Website: Keys to a Successful Compliance Review" is scheduled Sept. 17; the early bird-deadline for registration is Sept. 10. Howard & Howard PLLC attorney Steve Van Beek, NAFCU's former vice president of regulatory compliance, will discuss best practices to help credit unions ensure a successful website compliance review.
NAFCU's on-demand webcasts are available for up to 12 months after the live broadcast, which is included in the registration price.
The NAFCU regulatory compliance team is also preparing for the Regulatory Compliance Seminar, slated Oct. 14-17 in Baltimore. The early-bird registration deadline for Seminar is Aug. 22.
