NCUA begins taking LICU grant applications Feb. 3

Jan. 27, 2014 – Credit unions with NCUA's low-income designation can begin submitting their requests for technical assistance grants from the agency Feb. 3.

Low-income designated credit unions can receive up to $16,500 in funding for the following categories: new community development financial institution certification, new products and student internships.

More than 2,000 federally insured credit unions have the agency's low-income designation.

NCUA will provide $481,000 in total funding during the first 2014 round of technical assistance grants. The application period runs Feb. 3 through Feb. 14.
