NCUA sets April 3 financial literacy webinar

March 24, 2014 – NCUA announced it will host a free webinar on financial literacy and credit union goals April 3, with information provided on the Treasury Department's financial literacy pilot research program.

The webinar – "Financial Literacy: Putting Your Mission into Action" – is part of NCUA's planned activities for National Financial Literacy Month. It will start at 2 p.m. Eastern. The scheduled speakers are Gail Laster, director of the agency's Office of Consumer Protection, Louisa Quittman, director of the Treasury Department's Office of Financial Education, Gigi Hyland, executive director of the National Credit Union Foundation, and Katie Bryan, communications director of the Consumer Federation of America.

The speakers will address topics such as the aforementioned pilot research program as well as NCUA financial literacy resources, tips for building a financial literacy program and information about local and national financial literacy partnerships.
