Political analyst Rothenberg keynoter at Caucus

May 8, 2014 – Nationally known political analyst Stuart Rothenberg will offer insight on the upcoming midterm elections and their potential repercussions for the credit union industry in his keynote address to credit union attendees during NAFCU's 2014 Congressional Caucus in Washington, D.C.

"Rothenberg's keen perspective on the current political landscape will help credit union members gain a better understanding of its effects on the industry and what to look for in the 2014 elections," said Dan Berger, NAFCU's president and CEO. "With the increasing regulatory burdens facing credit unions, now is the time to advocate for your members. Come to Washington, and let policy makers know that ‘enough is enough' when it comes to overregulation of credit unions."

Rothenberg is editor and publisher of The Rothenberg Political Report and a columnist for Roll Call. He was an on-air political analyst for CNN for more than a decade and has appeared on "Meet the Press," "Nightline" and many other television programs. Rothenberg is slated to speak Sept. 10.

This year's Caucus will feature a robust lineup of speakers, including Berger, members from the House and Senate and federal agencies having an impact on credit union operations. Attendees will also walk Capitol Hill and educate lawmakers on key issues of concern to credit unions, including regulatory relief, protecting the credit union tax exemption, data security and housing finance reform.

Caucus takes place Sept. 9-12 at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel and is open to NAFCU members and nonmembers. The deadline for early registration savings of $100 is July 18.
