Register for the CU industry’s most anticipated advocacy event
Credit unions can now register for NAFCU’s 2022 Congressional Caucus where attendees will have the opportunity to engage lawmakers and regulators on a wide range of industry topics and all things happening on the Hill. The event, happening September 11-14, will be held in person in Washington D.C.
Attendees will also have the chance to interact with NAFCU’s award-winning advocacy team on key issues affecting the credit union industry. Following a welcome address from NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger, attendees will hear from keynote Chris Christie on the state of politics ahead of the midterm elections.
Throughout the event, attendees will have the chance to set up meetings with lawmakers and regulators to advocate for key credit union issues. NAFCU staff will share tips on how credit unions can best advocate for regulatory relief and industry-sought legislation including the Expanding Financial Access for Underserved Communities Act, which would continue to support credit unions and their established efforts to eliminate financial disparities in underserved areas.
Credit unions will have direct access to lawmakers and regulators to ask questions and share concerns over several topics including the NAFCU-opposed Durbin Amendment, which employs an arbitrary interchange price caps and routing restrictions, taking away $6 to $8 billion in revenue yearly from credit unions and banks, according to Fed data. These necessary conversations will help Congress better champion and support credit unions and the 131 million members they serve.
Registration for the event is currently available online. See the full agenda and register today. Stay tuned to NAFCU Today and follow along on Twitter with #NAFCUCaucus for updates.
