Regulatory Compliance School kicks off
March 10, 2014 – NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger today will give opening remarks to kick off the association's 2014 Regulatory Compliance School in National Harbor, Md., where credit union professionals will learn about the latest rules and compliance requirements affecting their institutions' operations.
"Now more than ever, it is essential that credit unions have a solid understanding of the regulations and laws affecting their institutions' regulatory compliance responsibilities," said JiJi Bahhur, NAFCU director of regulatory compliance and NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer. "In this increasingly complex regulatory environment, the School will be a vital resource for credit unions handling any new compliance changes that arise."
School participants will hear from Bahhur as well as NAFCU's Bernadette Clair, NCCO and senior regulatory compliance counsel; Brandy Bruyere and Ricardo Pineres, regulatory compliance counsels; Michael Coleman, NCCO and director of regulatory affairs; and PJ Hoffman and Angela Meyster, regulatory affairs counsels.
Attendees will also to get to hear from other leading industry professionals.
Additional highlights this week include:
- an entire day devoted to regulatory updates;
- the opportunity to earn the NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) designation;
- free access to NAFCU's Credit Union Compliance GPS electronic manual; and
- networking opportunities with other credit union professionals and compliance officers.
The Regulatory Compliance School runs through Saturdayat the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. It's open to NAFCU members and nonmembers.
