NAFCU talks CU issues with lawmakers at RNC

NAFCU's advocacy efforts continued at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland Wednesday as the association's Chad Adams and Meghan Brady discussed credit union issues with leading lawmakers.

Adams, NAFCU's senior associate director of legislative affairs, and Brady, NAFCU's associate director of political affairs, attended a series of policy meetings and events, including one with House Chief Deputy Whip and Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee Patrick McHenry, R-N.C. McHenry is also a confirmed speaker at NAFCU's Congressional Caucus in September.

NAFCU's team is focused this week on bringing the regulatory burden on credit unions to the attention of lawmakers and other policymakers. The two also heard from Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker; Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.; Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; and candidate for vice president Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.
