NAFCU's advanced compliance training begins today

NAFCU's Regulatory Compliance Seminar – known as one of the best credit union compliance training programs in the industry – begins today in San Diego. In addition to gaining insight on current and upcoming credit union regulatory compliance issues, the seminar allows existing NAFCU Certified Compliance Officers (NCCOs) to obtain recertification without retaking exams.

NAFCU Vice President of Regulatory Compliance Brandy Bruyere and her team will lead sessions today to provide attendees with a better understanding of hot-topic issues currently affecting credit unions, including:

  • overcoming the compliance challenges of CFPB's final Truth in Lending/Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act integrated disclosures rule (TRID);
  • contracting with third-party vendors and how to better negotiate and manage vendor programs;
  • explaining compliance issues in easy-to-understand language so all credit union employees better realize the importance of compliance and how to achieve it;
  • remaining compliant with the Federal Communications Commission's Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) when making free autodialed calls to consumers; and
  • demonstrating credit union compliance with regulations and preventing consumer harm when examiners asses compliance management systems (CMS).

A full schedule of the seminar and downloadable materials for attendees are available here.

The Regulatory Compliance Seminar runs through Friday. Updates will be posted by @NAFCU on Twitter with the hashtag #ComplianceSeminar.
