Regulatory orders, reporting compliance focus of upcoming webcasts

Over the next two weeks, NAFCU will host two webcasts on issues critical to credit unions' operations: regulatory orders and consumer reporting compliance.

On Tuesday, Arkansas FCU Director of Internal Audit Patrick McCollough will discuss the structure and consequences of being dealt a regulatory order. The NCUA issues regulatory orders when a credit union or person associated with a credit union violates a law, rule or regulation, or engages in risky practices.

NAFCU recommends attorneys and compliance and risk staff attend this webcast.

On Sept. 26, U.S. Banking Practice Bridgeforce Managing Director Michelle Macartney will provide an overview of best practices for consumer reporting compliance programs. Consumer reporting standards have changed significantly during the last several years as the CFPB has focused enforcement efforts in this space.

NAFCU recommends compliance and risk, collections and lending staffs attend this webcast.

Both webcasts are slated to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern and are open to all credit unions, regardless of membership or charter type. Participants can earn NCCO, NCRM and CPA education credits for attending. Learn more about the webcasts and register for them here.

NAFCU's on-demand webcasts are available for 12 months after the live broadcast through the association's Online Training Center.
