2018 NAFCU Board elections begin
NAFCU's 2018 board election cycle is now open with five director positions available – three at-large positions and one position each for Regions I and II. All incumbents have indicated their intent to seek re-election.
An email to NAFCU members today will include information on how to access the candidate application.
At-Large Director Debra Schwartz (Mission Federal Credit Union, San Diego, Calif.) and At-Large Director Robert Fisher (Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla.) are running again for three-year terms.
At-Large Director Jim Kenyon (Whitefish Credit Union, Whitefish, Mont.) is running for a two-year term.
Region I Director Gary Grinnell (Corning Federal Credit Union, Corning, N.Y.) is running for a three-year term and Region II Director Brian Schools (Chartway Federal Credit Union, Virginia Beach, Va.) is running for a one-year term.
There are two ways to be nominated for any of the five open NAFCU Board seats: complete and submit a candidate application to the Nominating Committee; or, by petition, obtaining at least five valid nominating ballots from NAFCU members.
Candidate applications are due to the committee March 12. Nominating ballots, which will go out April 4, must be returned by April 18. Official ballots for voting in both the at-large and regional elections will be sent April 25.
