CU Times: NAFCU logs 70 new members so far

NAFCU's addition of 70 new members so far in 2015 – growth aided in part by the association's move this summer to open up to all federally insured credit unions – was a top story on Credit Union Times' website Friday.

"I don't know if 59 new members last year and 70 new members at this point this year is a lot, but I can tell you we're very pleased," NAFCU Vice President of Membership and Sales Catherine Safady is quoted saying.

"NAFCU staff continues to provide strong leadership and value with a clear focus on federal advocacy, education and compliance assistance," NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger says in the article. "Our members are doing well, NAFCU is doing well and we're truly excited about 2016 and the opportunities for credit unions across the country."

Berger says this year's growth in new members has already exceeded expectations, and he projects it will continue through the fourth quarter. If the current pace continues, NAFCU could see nearly 100 new members by year-end.
